What is Acupuncture?

It is a major therapeutic branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) whose beginnings are some 5000 years old.

The T.C.M is based on a Chinese dialectic diagnosis (Chinese pulse measurement, examination of the tongue, facies, symptoms) to determine which energy is at risk in the Patient.

According to TCM, the disease is the result of poor circulation of energy Qi (chi) through the acupuncture meridians.

The acupuncturist, using needles, will restore the good flow of by puncturing certain precise points, which dot the meridians.

TCM uses other therapeutic means such as moxas, electrotherapy, suction cups and tui-na massage.

In practice

  • The first session lasts +/- 1 hour, the time to carry out a complete history of the Patient and to make a diagnosis.
  • Once this is done, the first session can take place (count 20/30 min once the needles are placed)
  • The next session lasts 30 to 40 minutes.
  • The frequency of treatment and the number of sessions will depend on the condition.
  • I use sterilized needles for single use.
  • The acupuncture sessions are reimbursed at the rate of 7x10 € by your mutuality
